Jordan is determined to take two.
Drafted by the NHL at eighteen, Jordan Garrison was headed for fame, and there was only one person he wanted to share it with—Jessie Caplan. He was crazy in love with her, and had finally told her so. They shared an amazing night . . . and then everything fell apart.
If you are like me you think, “If you’ve read one romance novel then you have read them all.” Or “This is just fluff to fill the spaces between the books I really want to read.” I was pleasantly surprised when I finished One More Shot by Victoria Denault. I wanted to climb into their world and live there for a while, who wouldn’t want to be a Caplan sister just to get a hot, athletic Garrison boy! I devoured this book in 2 days and I was pulling for Jessie and Jordan the whole time. I remember thinking, “If you two dorks would just talk this would be a much shorter book.” And I am glad they didn’t talk because the story was delightful.
I am a tough book critic and if there is too much of one thing, I am turned off immediately: too much angst, too much fluff, too much unrealistic sex etc. There was a nice balance where it felt real, like it could happen. The characters are wonderfully flawed and could be your friend. This book is sexy, funny and has a lot of heart. I identified with all the Caplan sisters; level-headed Jessie, hopeless romantic Rose and tough as nails Callie. I can’t wait until the next book comes out!
