DNAinfo Chicago: Fans of the “Divergent” trilogy can try to snag a seat in May to watch writer Veronica Roth take the stage for an author discussion at The Hideout.

Roth will join “Book of My Lives” author Aleksandar Hemon and “The Secret Life of Walter Mitty” screenwriter Steven Conrad for the “The Interview Show,” hosted by Mark Bazer at 1354 W. Wabansia Ave. on May 2.

Roth, a native of suburban Barrington and a graduate of Northwestern University’s creative writing program, started writing “Divergent” as a college student and made it big when the debut novel became a bestseller in 2011.

The trilogy spawned a blockbuster adaptation of the first novel and, in the trend of other recently adapted series, news recently broke that the last book will be split into two films.

Tickets to the small venue show are $8, and doors open at 6 p.m. The event runs until about 8 p.m.
