The Oscars are just around the corner on February 26th, and with the nominations fresh out of the boat, we are sitting over here biding our time and making our predictions as to who will come out on top.
La La Land was nominated 14 times tying it with Titanic and All About Eve for the most nominations ever. If the Golden Globes give us any hint as to who will be winning big, it will be La La Land, Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone for sure. Too bad we won’t have Ryan Reynolds there to make out with Andrew Garfield again during Ryan Gosling‘s acceptance speech! I DO want to see Emma Stone and her shy, real girl attitude beat out Meryl Streep for Best Actress. We love Emma for all of her awkwardness!
The 2016 Oscars were probably best remembered for their lack of diversity and celebrities like Jada Pinkett Smith boycotting the Oscars. This year we see lots of diversity among nominations such as Moonlight, Hidden Figures and Fences who are all getting a lot of attention.
Manchester By The Sea has also been getting a lot of well deserved attention but is it strong enough to take away best picture from fan favorite La La Land? I guess we will have to tune in to find out. I for one am looking forward to more homeless looking Casey Affleck in a tux. I mean, man bun FTW am I right?
All in all, it should be a good show. Jimmy Kimmel is hosting this year, and while he’s no Ellen Degeneres, he is like the 4th most popular late night host, so that’s good right?
Tell us, will you be tuning into the Oscars? What are your predictions for the night!
