The Chicago Public Library Foundation and the Chicago Public Library announced Monday that our beloved author, Veronica Roth, will be honored with the library’s 21st Century Award. We all love her and her amazing books and its great to see her getting recognized especially in CHICAGO!!
The 21st Century Award goes to an early-career author with Chicago ties. Roth, 25, author of the best-selling “Divergent” trilogy, was raised in Barrington and is a graduate of Northwestern University’s creative writing program.
The three “Divergent” books — including the final one, “Allegiant,” which was released in October — have sold more than 11 million copies, according to Publisher’s Weekly.
