Last week, we went behind-the-scenes of Insurgent filming with the TODAY show and got a chance to hear from Shailene Woodley, Theo James, Ansel Elgort, and Veronica Roth about what we can expect to see in The Divergent Series: Insurgent.

Well, thanks to a new Yahoo! Movies featurette, we get even more exclusive details, cast interviews, and new scenes from the upcoming movie. Check out the video below, which includes interviews with Veronica, Theo, Shai, Ansel, as well as Kate Winslet, Octavia Spencer, Zoe Kravitz, Mekhi Phifer, and producers Lucy Fisher and Doug Wick:

WOW! We can already tell from the trailers and footage so far that the action and visual effects in Insurgent will be elevated. It’s pretty cool that we get a chance to see the actual filming process of some of those stunts in the featurette. It’s also interesting to hear Veronica’s thoughts on “THE BOX” and how she thinks it helps to streamline the story.

And, I don’t know about you, but at the end when Doug is talking about how Divergent created a world, which Insurgent now tears up…it sounds ominous, but I think it’s a great description of the story as we understand from the book!

  1. I cannot wait for Insurgent to come out! And can we PLEASE PLEASE reach the writers and beg of them to CHANGE the ending of Allegiant. We need a strong, intelligent, sensitive, compassionate hero who not just “saves the day” but sets an EXAMPLE to the targeted readers that courage, commitment, compassion, and leadership does not lead you to becoming a martyr. This has been the ONLY YA female character I was not just inspired by and felt like I related to, but I felt immediately that this character was so much more relatable then other YA franchises. I was devestated and infuriated with Allegiants ending. It isn’t enough just to end the story you have to think about what you are putting out there and how the targeted audience will interpret the meaning and motive. I feel that Divergent laid a beautiful landscape but I passionately hope the producers and writers can see the blockbuster potential of changing the ending. I know beyond a shadow of a doubt that when the movie releases they will bomb with Allegiants current ending. However, to change the ending would bring more then the expected audiences because it would be THE most talked about and anticipated movies. They will have more then 3 years of built up hopes from fans. I HATED Allegiant because it seems that Veronica started to hate the story and what she created and killed off all of the characters as well as took away the most important aspect of these novels by having Tris turn into a martyr. Whatever it takes, one thing is clear Summit will dessimate an enormous following if they don’t figure out how to tell a better ending for Allegiant. I love that they have taken the foundation of the story and made into its own elevated story; it needed it. The actors are amazing and I am excited for them and for Summit as it seems that Insurgent and this Divergent series could far surpass their expectations, with the right scripts.

    1. SPOILERS FOR ALLEGIANT IN THE FOLLOWING COMMENT:

No! They can’t change the end, it was an amazing end fitting with the themes and tris’ character development throughout all the three books, it was built to be this way, it would be unrealistic and generic if tris didn’t die, it would be powefrul, realistic, fitting if she did die. Just because an author kills their characters, it doesn’t mean they don’t like the story, if that would be the logic, George RR Martin would DESPISE his novels, he literally kills off all his main characters, then there are new main characters, and he kills those off too! In my opinion, Allegiant has the best ending to any series ever, because of who got killed off
