With Outlander‘s official premiere this past Saturday, STARZ is reporting that that it’s the cable network’s most popular series premiere in its history! According to Variety:
Nielsen estimates that more than 720,000 watched the series opener of “Outlander” on Saturday night, and a total of 2.3 million watched during its opening weekend on the Starz flagship channel alone. Roughly 51% of those adults watching were female, the network said.
Early reporting of the week-long on-demand, online platforms and affiliate TVE services yielded an additional 1.4 million to date, bringing the total to 3.7 million and counting.
This is such a great way to kick things off! I’ve definitely been rewatching the first episode and re-experiencing my favorite moments–the druids dancing at Craigh na Dun, the first time Jamie calls Claire Sassenach, Claire’s potty mouth, and more!
The first episode was fantastic, but I know we’re all looking forward to the new episode this upcoming Saturday! Check out this video of a sneak peek of episode 2–it’s the scene where Jamie takes Laoghaire’s punishment!
And in this video, you can see a preview of the whole upcoming season! You’ll see some significant moments like Jamie and Claire getting to know one another, Claire interacting with Colum MacKenzie and Geillis Duncan, and Black Jack Randall being Black Jack Randal (*shivers*):
What scenes are you most looking forward to seeing?
Remember that Outlander airs on Saturdays at 9p on STARZ.
